Privacy policy

What the app sends when you solve something

Solving a problem and using the tutor require an internet connection, because the question is sent to an AI model through our server. Each request carries:

• The problem itself — the text you typed, or the cropped photo you took.
• Your study level (high school, college or graduate), so the explanation is pitched appropriately.
• An anonymous device identifier — a value derived from your device, used only to count free solves and to rate-limit abuse. It is not an advertising identifier, it is not linked to you as a person, and it is never shared.

Images are proxied to the model and are not persisted on our servers. Where a third-party model provider is used, the request is sent with data collection disabled, so your problem is not retained for model training.

What stays on your device

• Your solve history, including the problem text, the solution and any thumbnail — stored in the app's local database and never uploaded.
• Your preferences — appearance, study level, the answers you gave during onboarding, and your free-solve count.
• The study library — flashcards, quizzes, mechanisms, the formula reference and the calculators are bundled in the app and need no connection at all.

Clearing the app's data, or deleting the app, removes all of it. There is no server-side copy to request the deletion of, because there was never one made.

What the app does not collect

Name, email address, postal address, phone number, precise or coarse location, contacts, calendar, files, health data, financial information, messages, browsing history, the list of apps on your device, and advertising identifiers. There is no advertising in the app and no advertising SDK.

Camera and photos

Camera access is requested only when you open the scanner, and it is optional — typing a problem works without it. The app uses the system photo picker to import an existing image, which means it never receives access to your whole photo library. A photo is used to answer the question in front of you and then discarded.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. The app never sees your card details. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous subscriber identifier and the purchase record so that your Pro status can be restored on a new device.

Analytics

The Android app includes Google's Firebase Analytics for aggregate usage measurement — for example how many people opened the calculators in a week. It is not used to build a profile of you, and no problem text, tutor message or photo is ever sent to it.

This website

This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts, embeds no third-party fonts or trackers, and loads every asset from its own domain. Visiting it leaves nothing behind in your browser.

Children

The app is rated for general audiences and is designed for chemistry students. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Your rights

Because there is no account and no personal data held on a server, there is nothing to export or erase on request. Everything the app knows about you is on your device and under your control. If you have a question about any of this, email [email protected].

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
